Even though I have a long way to go in terms of calculation before I'm fully chess master strength this tournament was a huge success for me. I was fortunate enough to tie for first place alongside Santiago El Awad Ibrahim. My coach, IM Giorgi Sibasvhili gave me a wonderful compliment that he feels my middlegame and positional understanding are IM level, but my calculation discipline really needs some work. As a result, I am working 95% on my visualization, and calculation discipline as I prepare for the next tournament. I went from 2181 to 2180 this tournament. Had I calculated correctly against my round 1 opponent and not allowed a draw, I would have probably gained 8-10 points. I can't wait until the next tournament!
