The Chess Refinery - Houston's premier chess organization. They organize local casual events all over Houston and Katy. They just recently started some blitz tournaments. They also host giant rated "classical" tournaments too.

Houston Chess Studio (aka Poison Pawns Chess Club) - They run monthly rated tournaments. They are Houston's brick and mortar chess club! They just are about to expand to host even bigger tournaments. A great place to check out.
